The location of your office will be Wrocław.
Description
As the VAT Compliance Analyst you will be part of the EMEA VAT compliance team responsible for preparing VAT reporting documents across the EMEA region – VAT returns, SAF-Ts, ECSLs, Intrastat reports, as well as other tasks related to statutory VAT reporting. Apart from that, the team is also responsible for handling accounting tasks related to GL VAT accounts and transformation of VAT compliance process.
Key Responsibilities
Retrieve and review of VAT reports in terms of the correctness of the data from the perspective of supply chain and VAT provisions;
Preparation of VAT returns and handling their submission;
Securing the timeliness of submissions and payments of VAT;
Handling tax authorities’ inquiries and audits;
Perform tax returns operations including preparation of journal entries, clearing and reconciliation of GL accounts;
Prepare GL account reconciliations in Blackline;
Propose and implement process improvements;
Prepare training documents, train and support team members on specific areas.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
1-3 years of experience in VAT compliance and/or advisory, or equivalent experience in accounting with strong focus on VAT;
At least basic understanding of rules of Indirect Tax (tax base, place of taxation, tax point, input tax deduction implications, etc.) is a must;
English – fluent in speaking and writing;
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
Proficiency in general accounting under local or US GAAP standards and SAP background are strong assets;
Expertise with Blackline is a plus;
Problem solving and strong analytical skills.
