Job Captain .

CLIENT
Our CLIENT is a full‑service boutique residential architecture and interior design studio based in Los Angeles. The firm was founded by two experienced architects and is built around an integrated design philosophy. Treating architecture, interior architecture, and interior design as a single, unified discipline rather than separate scopes.

The studio works across the full residential spectrum: intimate interior renovations, complete architectural remodels, and large‑scale custom new construction. It is known for its highly personal, hands‑on approach, distinctive design aesthetic, and sensitivity to clients' individual lifestyles. The firm has offices in Los Angeles and Northern California, with an active and growing project pipeline.

POSITION SUMMARY

In this position, you will work directly alongside the founding partners and gain exposure across all phases of a project. This is a role for someone who wants meaningful design involvement, not just production throughput.

Resolve design intent at the detail level

Coordinate architectural lighting design, including cove lighting, recessed layouts, and specification sheets

Respond to RFIs and prepare supplemental instructions during active construction

Review and process submittals, shop drawings, and material samples

Support punch list preparation and project closeout

Collaborate directly with founding partners on design development decisions

Participate in client meetings and presentations as appropriate

Contribute to the firm's culture of design excellence and continuous learning

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) or Interior Architecture

4–6 years of professional experience in architecture or architectural interior design

Proficiency in AutoCAD preferred (not required)

Demonstrated expertise in SketchUp, Rhino, or other 3D modeling tools

Understanding of building systems, construction methods, and materials

Knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards

Strong technical drawing and detailing skills

Demonstrated experience leading or significantly contributing to construction document sets

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Solid understanding of interior architecture (millwork, finish details, RCPs, lighting, and material coordination)

Single-family residential project experience, ideally custom or luxury homes

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team

Experience with wildfire rebuild projects or fire‑resistant construction a notable plus
