Member Duties: Summer Associate VISTA members will contribute to the economic opportunity goals of IRC Denver’s AmeriCorps project by engaging clients in group and individual services in areas including:* Job readiness training* Digital literacy activities* English language acquisition instruction* Cultural orientation* School engagement* Housing navigation* Higher‐education and trade‐skills exploration* Facilitated access to food and community resources, public transportation, and other tools that build a pathway out of poverty.Scope of Service: The Economic Opportunity & Integration VISTA Summer Associate will strengthen the IRC in Denver’s support of refugee and immigrant clients. VISTA Member services will involve:* Participating in adult basic education, English acquisition/ESL instruction, and job readiness services designed to advance stabilization, poverty reduction, and community integration.* Engaging with clients to identify needs, research solutions, learn about service documentation, and assist in program design and improvement.* Completing 200 service activities, enhancing programs built through prior VISTA capacity‐building efforts, while benefiting from and contributing to strong partnerships with employers, educational institutions, government agencies, financial institutions, and food pantries that collectively support the success of IRC Denver’s Integration programs.* Contributing to the project’s economic opportunity goals by engaging clients in group and individual services like job readiness training, digital literacy activities, English language acquisition instruction, cultural orientation, school engagement, housing navigation, higher‐education and trade‐skills exploration, along with facilitated access to food and community resources, public transportation, and other tools that build a pathway out of poverty.Requirements* The best candidates have an openness to working with people from varied backgrounds, are able to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment among dedicated professionals and have a proficiency with Microsoft Office.* Must commit to completing ten weeks of 375 in-person service hours between June 1 and August 9, 2026.* Must meet all AmeriCorps requirements and apply through the AmeriCorps website.* AmeriCorps provides VISTAs with a $68.39 daily living allowance during their service period. Upon completion of service hours, VISTA Summer Associates are eligible to receive a $345 end of service stipend or $1565 education award from AmeriCorps. These benefits are provided by AmeriCorps directly to service members.
