Maintenance Technician II
At Father Joe’s Villages, the Facilities & Maintenance team helps create safe, functional, and welcoming spaces where clients, staff, and visitors can focus on stability, healing, and daily success. As a Maintenance Technician II, you will play an important role in keeping our facilities running smoothly so our programs can continue supporting the community every day.
The Role
This is a hands‑on, skilled maintenance role that combines independent work with teamwork across departments. You’ll help maintain and repair multiple facilities, respond to service requests, and contribute to preventive maintenance efforts that keep our campuses safe and reliable.

Key Responsibilities
Perform a variety of building maintenance and repair tasks across multiple facilities, including but not limited to plumbing, lighting, painting, minor remodeling, and carpentry.
Complete work safely and in accordance with established procedures, with minimal supervision.
Safely and effectively use hand and power tools to complete assigned work.
Identify and report facility improvement needs and larger repair issues.
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
Document completed work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Communicate clearly with staff to confirm completion and identify any follow‑up needs.
Escalate complex or specialized repairs when additional support is required.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, tools, equipment, and materials.
Follow all safety procedures and consistently use personal protective equipment (PPE).
Complete requiredtrainingsand policy acknowledgements on time.
Work independently and as part of a team to support department priorities.
Adapt to changing work orders and shifting priorities across multiple sites.
Support additional tasks and projects as needed.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
At least two (2) years of maintenance experience in a multi‑unit or multi‑site environment.
Working knowledge of at least two (2) of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, painting, HVAC, or carpentry.
Must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience.
A valid California driver’s license, current registration, insurance, and an acceptable driving record are required due to the essential functions of this role.
Basic computer skills and ability to learn maintenance management software.
Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple tasks. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced and changing environment.
Availability to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Familiarity with safety practices such as Lockout/Tagout, fall protection, respiratory protection, electrical safety, fire systems, forklift/hoist operation, and PPE use.
Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
Experience working across multiple buildings or campus environments.
Bilingual in English and Spanish or experience serving multilingual communities.
Work Schedule
Full‑time Day Shift Wednesday - Sunday position, from 12:00PM - 8:30PM. Work is primarily onsite across Father Joe’s Villages facilities and may occasionally require schedule flexibility based on operational needs.
Compensation And Benefits
The anticipated starting pay range for this role is $20.27 to $23.31 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
