SALARY
The salary range for this position is $57,853.08 to $94,782.62 for Schedule A, and $57,853.08 to $90,043.50 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an organized, customer-service oriented individual with exceptional total quality management, organizational awareness, and interpersonal skills to join the Office of Probation Services, Intensive Supervision Program (ISP) in the Southern Regional Office (Cherry Hill, NJ). The selected individual must be able to handle a variety of technical and client support functions in a fast paced office and field environment. This position is open to applicants that are both bilingual and non-bilingual.
The Intensive Supervision Program (ISP) is a program designed to treat both adult inmates and juvenile offenders in the community under strict supervision. The individual having gone through a rigorous screening process, is given an opportunity to abide by a set of rules and thereby earn their continued release to the community. The reorientation to the community depends upon that individual’s commitment to change.
Note: Although this position is located in the ISP South Office (Cherry Hill, NJ), travel to the Central Office (Trenton, NJ), and other Judiciary locations may be required.
REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
Court Services Officers work a 40 hour work week and an alternate schedule which include nights and weekends. Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
Example of Duties
Prepare ISP assessments and assist ISP field supervision officers in developing community sponsors, network teams, group and individual community service sites, and employment opportunities for applicants and participants in the ISP program
May supervise a caseload of in-patient/residential placement participants
Assist field officers in verifying curfews, treatment and community service attendance
Conduct ISP intakes and have participants sign conditions of ISP
Coordinate volunteer services of ISP graduates
Responsible for covering field officers’ caseloads in their absence
Perform other related duties as required
Serve as primary and/or backup to handle ISP Screening Board responsibilities
Serve as lead during ISP Screening Board interviews
Travel, attend and complete necessary paperwork and reports related to ISP Screening Board interviews
Coordinate with community volunteers and the Department of Corrections to schedule and conduct Screening Board Interviews
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and one year of paraprofessional experience in case management in the field of probation or community development.
Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
BICAT Testing: Candidates selected to serve in a bilingual variant title must pass the New Jersey Civil Service Commission Bilingual Communicative Ability Test (BICAT) performance examination or provide proof of having established bilingual proficiency with the New Jersey Civil Service Commission.

Physical Ability: For some positions, applicants must have the ability to perform work which requires climbing and prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching to perform the essential duties of the position. For some positions, the selected candidate must be able to frequently lift and carry supplies weighing from 30 to 50 pounds and, occasionally, materials weighing up to 75 pounds, in order to perform essential duties of the position.
Driver’s License: Appointees will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
