Job Summary
Bv Construction group’s Civil Field Engineer – Conventional Generation – South Carolina role focuses on on‑site field management, design support, subcontractor coordination, and assistance with quality and safety oversight for conventional power plant projects. The position requires providing technical direction, interpreting designs and contracts, and ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery while supporting safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical direction and interpret design drawings and specifications for subcontractors.

Coordinate with subcontract administrators and procurement teams to manage contract requirements.

Prepare and issue change orders, RFMPs/PCOs/WAs, and monitor CPM schedule compliance.

Maintain daily site logs, quantity take‑offs, and progression of invoice approvals.

Review and approve subcontractor progress payments and supplier timesheets.

Assist field QA managers with inspections and test verifications.

Support continuous improvement and change management initiatives on site.

Direct technical service advisors and vendor representatives as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

2–6 years of construction management or design experience in similar facility construction.

Experience with Simple Cycle and/or Combined Cycle plants.

Knowledge of cost control, scheduling, engineering drawings, material take‑offs, and field estimates.

Strong communication, organization, safety, and contract administration skills.

Ability to supervise and lead subcontractor activities.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program or a foreign equivalent accepted in the applicant’s home country. All applicants must successfully complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle record searches.

Certifications
OSHA 10 certification.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Stand, kneel, bend, and move in confined, cluttered areas.

Operate at heights up to 12 feet; use ladders, scaffolds, and steel frameworks.

Perform repetitive manual tasks for extended periods within varying temperature extremes.

Work in noisy, dusty, or inclement weather conditions.

Maintaining balance on uneven surfaces and exposure to hazardous equipment.

Full range of motion and flexibility required.
