Position Summary
As a Paralegal on the Aetna Legal Team performing at a high-level of professionalism and confidentiality will be responsible for performing various critical paralegal tasks for the Litigation Team in connection with a range of challenging duties under limited supervision include:
Manage a large litigation matter docket, including independently managing health benefits and provider disputes, which can include searching document repository and databases for data review; as well as, providing a summary of the corresponding actions taken regarding the adjudication of claims, and coordinating with a Health Care Benefits in-house and regional outside counsel in developing and implementing strategy for litigation and settlement.
Independently manage third-party subpoenas and requests for records from state/government agencies, and other requestors to securely provide sensitive data and responsive documents, in accordance with applicable state laws and company policies.
Provide support to litigation attorneys in the management of litigations, class actions and arbitrations in assisting with the discovery process, including issuing legal holds, managing data and document collection.
Provide legal support to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) in investigating and pursuing fraud, waste, and abuse matters.
Manage or participate in special projects.
Preferred Experience
Demonstrate analytical ability, good communication skills and judgment along with great organizational skills in managing litigation matters.
Knowledge of Health Care benefits and claims adjudication process.
Knowledge of state and federal court systems.
Knowledge of PACER and Westlaw
Required Qualifications
4+ years of legal litigation experience
4+ years of investigative and research experience
Education
Paralegal certificate required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Anticipated Weekly Hours: 40

Pay Range: $26.74 - $71.30
