Trailer Technician/Mechanic – Willington, CT – Amerit Fleet Solutions
Pay:
$26.00 – $30.00 per hour (weekly pay)
Schedule:
Tuesday – Saturday 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. (2nd shift) or 10 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. (overnight shift). Weekly pay every Friday.

What You’ll Do
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trailers
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment
Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations
What We’re Looking For
2+ years’ hands‑on experience performing class 7–8 trailer maintenance and repairs
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Valid driver’s license
Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position
Ability to successfully pass a background check, pre‑employment drug screen, and DOT physical if required for the role
Working Conditions
This role involves working in a mobile, outdoors and/or shop environment with exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical materials such as oils and greases. Technicians must be able to perform essential job functions that include frequent movement such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces. Technicians may be required to work at heights using ladders or elevated platforms and must be able to safely perform duties in various weather conditions. The ability to see and hear sufficiently to safely navigate the workspace is required.
