About the Position
Under the direction of the Department Production Supervisor and in cooperation with the Team Leader, handle materials and expedite parts to proper production locations. Sort, organize, deliver, and store parts and materials as needed and appropriate, in a timely routine manner and in accordance with the production schedule, making independent decisions with minimal direct supervision given appropriate instructions.
Key Skills and Competencies
Ability to pick and stage parts for production lines
Basic computer skills, including scanners and barcode systems
Forklift and material‑handling equipment operation (or willingness to learn)
Effective teamwork and communication skills
Attention to detail and organization
Commitment to workplace safety and company policies
Key Responsibilities
Receive, identify, label, stock, and record materials and supplies to maintain accurate inventory
Load, unload, and transport materials using forklifts and carts, both indoors and outdoors
Verify materials against packing slips and purchase orders
Package and stage parts safely for delivery to production and internal customers
Respond to material requests and communicate effectively with internal teams
Pull and verify materials listed on production orders
Learn and use the company’s inventory management system
Sort materials by destination to ensure accurate delivery
Perform and document daily forklift and crane inspections prior to operation
Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety initiatives
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
0–1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Forklift experience preferred but not required
Basic computer skills, including use of handheld devices
Ability to work independently with instruction and collaborate effectively in a team
Strong problem‑solving skills and adaptability to change
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Capable of working in a fast‑paced production environment and meeting deadlines
Willingness to accept feedback and correct errors when needed

Manufacturing Environment. Shop manufacturing environment exposures include exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools and equipment, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, motorized vehicles, welding and machining operations, outside weather conditions and exposure to the risk of electric shock. The employee may occasionally be exposed to varying levels of dirt, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, very warm and/or very chilly temperatures. The noise level in the shop can be very loud at times consistent with an industrial assembly facility and may require hearing protection.
