What You Can Expect
Paragon 28, a Zimmer Biomet Company focused on orthopedic medical device for the foot and ankle, is hiring a summer Engineering Intern for our Product Sustaining Team located in Englewood, CO. Under the close supervision of Engineering staff, this role will assist the Engineering team on design and development projects. The Engineering Intern will perform routine tasks as well as receive exposure and direction to grow their technical Engineering skills.
How You'll Create Impact
Observes and may participate in product development from ideation to commercialization through entire product life cycle with guidance from engineering staff including:
Competitive product for performance characteristics
Conceptualizing new design ideas
Solidworks for parametric modeling and detailing designs of P28 implants and instruments
Create design control documentation for P28 design history files
Development of testing protocols and testing process for new and existing products
Observe surgery (live, cadaver, or video) on lower extremity pathology. Document all notes.
Other duties as directed by manager
Your Background
Generally limited to students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related engineering discipline with an interest/background in medical device
Prior experience in medical device development helpful but not required
Familiarity with CAD. SolidWorks preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office
Effective communication skills
Travel Expectations
No travel required.
Compensation Data
Hourly Rate: $25.00-$30.00 USD per hour depending on skills, experience and academic level
