Job Overview
Location: Carthage, TX. Position: Precision Millwright on a power plant construction site.
Responsibilities
Strong knowledge of precision millwright equipment, tools, procedures, and best practices.
Serve as a safety role‑model for the team.
Inspect, move, and set equipment such as turbines, pumps, motors, fans, cooling towers, and compressors into position.
Use precision leveling and alignment tools (calipers, squares, micrometers, optical instrumentation) to measure angles, thicknesses, and small distances.
Participate in safety meetings and follow OPD and client safety policies.
Be aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite, arrive on time, and display a positive attitude in a team environment.
Maintain high attention to detail to avoid rework and errors.
Physical Demands
Work in outdoor weather and environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and high elevations.
Lift and carry awkward objects up to 60 lbs.
Stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours per day).
Use arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending regularly.
Work on elevated platforms, maintaining balance on narrow beams and pipes, while wearing an approved full‑body harness and lanyard.
Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and tools.
Basic Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience as a millwright.
3 or more years of experience in heavy civil construction.
Willingness to travel and work extended periods away from home in remote areas.
Willingness to work shifts up to 12 hours per day and up to 7 days per week.
Capability to meet all physical demands of the job.
Attendance at mandatory safety meetings.
Demonstrated safety role‑model behavior.
Preferred Qualifications
3 or more years of previous experience as a millwright.
Previous experience in a gas plant construction environment.
NCCER Millwright Certification.
