Job Description
We are seeking a Estimator – Structural Concrete Storm Drain Pipeline (5+ Years Min Exp) with extensive experience in storm drain structures, underground utilities, and pipeline construction to join our team. This position is responsible for leading the estimating process, managing projects from bid through completion, and providing leadership to project staff to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Minimum 5 Years Experience
Responsibilities
Preparation of detailed project estimates for underground utility, storm drain, and pipeline projects.
Review plans, specifications, soil reports, and aerial imagery (e.g., Google Earth) to identify potential project risks and constructability issues.
Analyze geological and soil reports and coordinate with engineering and field teams to address potential challenges.
Perform comprehensive quantity takeoffs and input data into estimating software such as
Hard Dollar ,
BLUE BEAM
Review and respond to
RFIs , resolve discrepancies, and clarify scope requirements during the bidding process.
Prepare complete bid proposals and supporting documentation for review by company Owner.
Develop and oversee project schedules, cost controls, and project budgets.
Review contracts, identify risk exposures, and assist in negotiating contract terms when necessary.
Coordinate with superintendents, Foreman’s, Lead’s, subcontractors, and vendors throughout the bidding and construction phases.
Monitor project performance to ensure deadlines, safety standards, and cost targets are achieved.
Manage change orders, cost tracking, and project forecasting.
Compile and present project status reports and cost analysis to company leadership.
Qualifications
Must have experience figuring STRUCTRUAL concrete and rebar. not necessarily Storm Drain but if so that is better (retaining walls, foundations, parking structures, bridges.
Must have experience using a name brand estimating software
Must be able to read plans and standards
Minimum 5 years of experience in project management and estimating for underground utilities, storm drain, or pipeline construction.
Strong experience with storm drain systems, structures, pipelines, and underground utility infrastructure is a plus.
Proficiency in construction software including CMS, Viewpoint, Hard Dollar, and
Microsoft Office (EXCEL IS A MUST).
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and cost‑control abilities.
Highly detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
Valid driver’s license required.
High school diploma or equivalent required (construction management or engineering education ).
