Job Description
Avery Dennison provides innovative solutions for printing and labeling operations at our Miamisburg, Ohio location, producing a wide range of stock and custom labels, tickets, tags, printers, and related products for leading organizations in logistics, food, and retail sectors.
Responsibilities
Work the main receiving dock and manage the final disposition of products.
Receipt, storage, and distribution of raw materials.
Distribution of finished goods.
Receive, identify, and verify incoming materials from production and/or outside vendors, and store them in appropriate locations according to specifications and department guidelines.
Distribute and/or store items per department guidelines and specifications.
Accurately process and maintain all related documentation, both via PC and handwritten.
Utilize material handling equipment to load and/or unload truckload carriers as per specifications.
Prepare orders for shipment according to instructions and specifications, including pallet labeling, consolidation, or stretch wrapping.
Maintain inventory as per department guidelines.
Respond to all inter‑company requests for materials and material counts, serving as a resource for team members and others in resolving related issues and problems.
Train, assist, and support other team members in problem‑solving and achieving department goals.
Continuously review current processes and seek improvement methods to enhance product/process quality, reduce waste, rework, and unnecessary work that does not add value.
Perform general housekeeping tasks and waste removal within the department/group and assist other areas as required.
Assist and support other job functions within the process or other company processes within scope and ability, based on business needs.
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership, including assisting at different workstations, maintaining 5S/housekeeping standards, and supporting overall plant safety and production goals.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Proficiency in basic math calculations, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Good interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
Ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions.
Good judgment and decision‑making ability.
Ability to continuously stand and/or sit, stretch, reach, stoop, and bend.
Proficiency in utilizing inventory control systems, databases, and storage locator systems.
Skill and safety in using material handling equipment such as order picker, swing reach, forklift, hand trucks, pallet trucks, and clamp truck. Must be able to obtain a material handling license.
Ability to work at varying heights.
Safety‑conscious and alert to safety hazards.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs., occasionally 100 lbs. with mechanical assistance. Incumbent may maneuver up to 2000 lbs. using appropriate material handling equipment.
