Produce Production Team Member (Fruit and Vegetable Cutter) - Part Time
This position is responsible for processing, preparing, and merchandising fruit and vegetable products in the produce department. Team members maintain quality, safety, and customer service standards.

Job Responsibilities

Cuts fruits and vegetables following safety and sanitation rules.

Ensures products meet Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation.

Maintains the sampling program.

Continuously cleans the department and maintains sweep logs.

Arrives to the workstation on time, appropriately groomed and dressed.

Provides excellent customer service, addresses customer needs, models suggestive selling techniques, and answers phones and pages.

Maximizes sales potential through proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.

Follows and complies with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.

Maintains a clean and sanitary work and shopping environment; maintains equipment per WFM cleanliness and safety standards.

Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensures accuracy of signs and pricing.

Immediately reports safety hazards and violations.

Performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.

Capable of accessing and communicating market condition information to customers.

Understands spoilage and supply waste impact on department profits.

Working knowledge of all merchandising expectations within the department.

Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.

Ability to deliver information clearly and respectfully to fellow team members, customers, and vendors.

Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions.

Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills.

Passion for natural foods and Whole Foods Mission.

Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency.

Understanding and compliance with Whole Foods quality goals.

Experience

No prior retail experience required.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.

Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.

Work requires motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.

Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.

Exposure to temperatures:

90°F.

Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.

May require the use of ladders.

Benefits and Compensation
Wage range: $19.00–$25.40 hourly, commensurate with experience.

Eligible for Whole Benefits, including store discount, paid time off, financial wellness, health & wellness support programs, and other perks. Eligibility is determined under the applicable Whole Benefits plan at the date of hire.

After successful completion of the first 90 days of employment, entry level team members may be eligible for a base rate increase.
