
Staff Accountant
Mammoth Hospital, Mammoth Lakes, CA, United States
The Staff Accountant participates in all functions of the General Accounting Department. The Staff Accountant is responsible for accounting/bookkeeping, fixed assets, budgeting and expense analysis. This position also performs related duties assigned or required by the Finance Director and/or CFO.
What You'll Do
Works with Senior Staff Accountant to complete month/year end closing including general ledger entries, fixed asset entries, adjusting entries and account reconciliation
Works with Senior Staff Accountant to complete all account reconciliations prior to closing month in timely manner
Works with Patient Financial Services Payment Processing to complete cash reconciliation if there are outstanding issues
Works with Senior Staff Accountant to prepare month end package – including preparation of financial statements, volume reports, expense trend reports
Acts as backup in preparing Daily Dashboard and Daily Cash
Assists in preparation of annual operating and capital budget
Assists in preparation documentation for annual audit and other regulatory reporting (e.g. Medicare cost report)
Acts as a backup in preparation and transmission of monthly sales tax returns
Acts as a backup for Accounts Payable and other accounting duties

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
Five years of practical accounting experience required.
Must be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Excel electronic spreadsheet routine.
Competent typing and 10 key skills are required.
Some budget experience preferred.
Job Information
Full-time, Monday-Friday, day shift.
Starting wage $30.90 to $37.45 based on qualifications.
