Duties
Serve as a member of a disaster response team in the search, recovery, evacuation, and identification of remains at an accident site.
Provide expertise in the analysis, testing, and evaluation of emergency and evacuation planning, operations, and response of the Casualty Assistance Center in the event of multiple military casualties.
Provide assistance to other Casualty employees: Casualty Operations Manager, Benefits Coordinator, Memorial Affairs Coordinator, and Training Instructor.
Process current deaths of service members and their dependents, Department of the Army Civilians, active duty, National Guard and Army Reservists.
Serve as the contracting officer representative (COR) for the Army requirements contract for mortuary services in the Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Conditions of Employment
Appointment subject to suitability or fitness determination from a background investigation.
Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required up to 10% of the time.
May be required to work nights, holidays, and weekends.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Specialized Experience
One year of specialized experience which includes:
Processing current deaths of service members and their dependents, Department of the Army Civilians, active duty, National Guard and Army Reservists.
Serving as a Contracting Officer Representative for contracts for mortuary services.
Serving as a member of a disaster response team in the search, recovery, evacuation, and/or identification of remains at an accident site.
Providing expertise in the analysis, testing, and evaluation of emergency and evacuation planning, operations, and response of a casualty assistance center in the event of an emergency such as multiple military casualties.
Education
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
Combination of Education and Experience
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Time in Grade Requirement
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS‑07).
