
Laser Operator - 1st or 2nd Shift

A Laser Operator at NPX Medical is responsible for the manufacturing of laser processed medical devices. He/she runs products on the laser, performs visual inspection, quality measurements, and other related activities. He/she helps ensure products conform to performance and quality standards by quickly communicating any product concerns. The Operator works directly with the Laser Technician, QA, and management team to meet rapid turn times and shipment goals. A Laser Operator is responsible for following the established procedures and quality system practices as required by NPX and/or the customer.
Responsibilities
Operate laser – starting of machine, reloading of material.
Post-process metal and plastic products – honing, removing of cutouts, cleaning.
Ability to inspect product under a microscope.
Inspect using equipment including micrometers, gage pins, calipers, and vision scopes.
Utilize basic math and documentation skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to interact with teams of operators, quality, and engineering support.
Flexibility to adapt to a changing, evolving environment.
Self‑motivated, self‑starting person looking for a growth opportunity.
Assist in the training of operators.
Perform the packaging for shipping of customer product.
Other Responsibilities
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience: Minimum two (2) years experience in medical device manufacturing is preferred.
Laser processing is a plus.
