Join the San Diego Center for the Blind as a volunteer for Strides for Sight and be part of an event that brings the community together in support of individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
Volunteers are the heartbeat of Strides for Sight. From guiding participants along the course to cheering at the finish line, every moment of support helps create a safe, welcoming, and empowering experience for people who are blind or visually impaired. Volunteer time doesn’t just help run an event—it helps build confidence, connection, and community.
Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes
Key Responsibilities:
Volunteers will assist with event setup, participant check‑in, guiding along the course, distributing refreshments, and cheering on participants throughout the day.
No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to help and be part of something meaningful.
Attire:
This opportunity takes place outdoors with little or no shade, so volunteers should wear sun protection such as sunscreen and a hat.
Physical Requirements:
This project is able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations.

Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age: 18+
