The intern will support warehouse layout, inventory management, and material flow improvement initiatives. This role will allow an enthusiastic and analytical student to contribute to meaningful operational improvements. The ideal candidate is always curious, applies rigor to problem solving, and works well independently and in collaboration with others.This opportunity will involve working closely with supply chain, warehouse, and operations teams to support continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.* Support warehouse layout design and optimization, including space utilization and material flow* Assist with the design and maintenance of Kanban systems, supermarkets, and pull-based inventory controls* Support inventory analysis and management, including consignment inventory and replenishment processes* Create and update CAD drawings for warehouse layouts, storage areas, and material flow concepts* Collect, analyze, and present operational data to support continuous improvement initiatives* Collaborate with cross-functional teams on supply chain and industrial engineering projects**Education:*** Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Engineering, or a related discipline.**Experience:*** Previous internship, co-op, academic, or project experience in supply chain, warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing is preferred* Coursework or demonstrated knowledge of warehouse operations, layout design, and inventory management principles desired* Familiarity with Kanban systems, supermarkets, and lean concepts desired**Competencies:*** Experience or familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar)* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP exposure is a plus* Strong written and verbal communication skills* Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment# **\*\*This position does not offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future\*\*****Life Unlimited.** At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.The Quality Engineer Intern will be responsible for supporting the rollout and expansion of an electronic device history record (eDHR) in Memphis, TN.* Interpreting GD&T and translating blueprints and procedures into tabulated data formats for use within the Tulip eDHR application suite.* Drafting supplementary Work Instructions, procedures, and other design documentation.* Capturing videos and images of inspection and manufacturing processes to adapt paper-based Work Instructions into the eDHR suite.* Assisting in process development and improvement as the eDHR suite of applications is expanded to additional product lines and processes.* Assisting in Tulip application design and development for new apps and iterative improvement of existing apps.* Training end-users on Tulip application use.**Planned Start Date:** May 2026**Program Length:** 12 weeks

Prior experience with Tulip and Jira strongly preferred.* Strong understanding of good manufacturing practices (GMP), good documentation practices (GDP), and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) preferred.* Effective technical writing skills and experience working within various software systems (Word, Excel, e.g.).* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment.* Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and precision.* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.* Ability to lift up to 30lbs., sit for extended periods of time at a desk or computer keyboard, or stand for extended periods.* Ability to comply with all Safety Policies and Procedures as applicable to work area, including mandated personal protection equipment (PPE). While performing the duties of this job, the employee may temporarily:

+ Work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and equipment vibration.
