Job Purpose and Summary
This position provides support to Engineering staff on a seasonal basis. Support includes assisting construction engineers in the location, design, or inspection of various engineering projects.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Participate and assist with various construction engineering projects, both in the office and in the field.

Review roadway, bridge, and traffic construction criteria.

Read and interpret inspection/testing reports, engineering drawings/specifications, and various maps, including topographic maps.

Assist in construction inspection, field measurement, and quantification of project‑related items required for construction.

Attend meetings, workshops, and professional development trainings on organizational business policies and procedures.

Perform departmental documentation and administrative tasks as needed.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional associates, supervisors, and engineering firms.

Use situational awareness to anticipate and prevent accidents.

Perform related work as required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent certificate.

Currently enrolled in sophomore, junior, or senior year of a post‑secondary educational program, majoring in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering for the upcoming fall semester.

At least eighteen (18) years of age.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Frequent speaking, writing, and reading reports. Frequent work at a computer utilizing business programs and PTC specific operating systems. Occasional long hours and/or work outside normal hours. Ability to stand, stoop, walk, lift, and carry heavy tools/equipment when necessary. Office environment with low noise, adequate lighting, and comfortable temperature. Field environment may expose to adverse and undesirable conditions; safety equipment or precautions must be followed.
