Position: Direct Support Professional
Hours: 8 hours per week Sat. 7a-3p
Location: Voorhees, NJ
Responsibilities
Carry out behavioral treatment plans and collect direct observational data.
Provide assistance with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, social awareness, meal preparation, money management, and housekeeping.
Provide personal care, supervision, and participate in the individuals’ life growth; teach daily living and functional skills to help them achieve personal goals and transition to less restrictive residential settings.
Accompany individuals to healthcare appointments and community outings, providing safe transportation.
Resolve problem behavior situations and provide intervention while adhering to quality standards for safety and approved crisis techniques.
Complete paperwork and documentation as required; maintain effective communication with residents, parents, guardians, and other family members.
Minimum Requirements
Must be 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or GED.
Valid Driver’s License in the candidate’s legal name and current address; one year minimum driving experience; license in good standing and free of restrictions.
Minimum of six months related work experience OR Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in a degree program in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
Desired Skills
Aspiration to work with autistic, intellectually and developmentally challenged individuals.
Prior experience with individuals with autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
