Job Description
Financial Counselor: Shift - Monday to Friday, 1:00pm to 9:30pm and Saturday 8:30-5:00p
The Financial Counselor will be responsible for reviewing the admissions from the previous day(s) to verify the accuracy of the insurance information obtained and entered by the Intake or assigned department. The Financial Counselor will review admissions from the previous day(s) to verify accuracy of the insurance information obtained and entered by the intake or assigned department. The Financial Counselor will meet with patients and/or family members to secure payment for patient responsible balances.

Qualifications
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in Managed care. Must have experience with Medicare and other government benefits and ability to determine deductible and coinsurance. Must also have a minimum of 6 month experience in finances and collecting patients financial liability up front, admission processes and collections procedures, and a working knowledge of managed care; interpretation of insurance coverage plans, co-payments and deductible schedules and payment plans; and a working knowledge of computers and business software programs (Excel) preferred.
Additional Requirements:
May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
