Electroencephalography Technician (EEG)
Position Highlights:
Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
EEG certification – Registration offered by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalography, CNIM, and EP Technologists (ABRET) or the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET).
Knowledge of JCAHO and other regulatory requirements.
Previous experience with the VA is a plus.
Responsibilities
Independently perform routine and non‑standard procedures, including EEG and EP. These include Awake, Sleep, Portable, and ECS.
Perform routine and specialized procedures.
Conduct routine long‑term monitoring, LTM/CCTV – EEG monitoring, including extended 10/20 electrode placement.
Act as an expert EEG technologist, maintaining state‑of‑the‑art quality in the principles, practices, and procedures associated with Electroencephalography.
Perform high‑quality studies for complex and non‑routine procedures in demanding environments such as operating rooms, research, or intensive care units.
Report specific patient outcome information, such as complications, to the Service Line Chief.
Ensure all testing performed requires online analysis by the technologist to obtain the necessary data for correct diagnosis.
Collaborate closely with physicians from the Neurology Service and the Epilepsy Center of Excellence.
Utilize sophisticated equipment and associated electronics to obtain continuous video‑EEG monitoring in patients with undiagnosed spells.
Follow established laboratory and/or hospital guidelines in completing administrative duties for each test performed.
