Workday Systems Administrator (Payroll & Finance)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Workday Systems Administrator
to manage the configuration, data integrity, and day‑to‑day functionality of the Workday platform. This role supports Payroll, Finance, and related business users by providing operational support, system enhancements, reporting, and training, while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and optimal system performance.
The ideal candidate combines strong
Workday administration expertise , solid understanding of
Payroll and Finance processes , and the ability to collaborate effectively across IT and business teams in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Workday System Administration & Support
Manage the configuration, maintenance, and overall functionality of the Workday platform
Provide daily operational support to Workday users, including:
Troubleshooting system issues
Responding to user inquiries
Assigning and delegating system access
Creating, modifying, and supporting reports
Support Workday modules related to:
Payroll
Absence Management
Time Tracking
Expenses
Projects
Assets
Data Management & Integrity
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality within Workday and related Payroll and Finance systems
Perform regular data audits, validations, and corrective actions as needed
Maintain compliance with data governance and privacy standards
Business Partnership & Process Improvement
Build strong working relationships across IT, Finance, and Accounts Payable
Collaborate with business partners to understand processes, goals, and system gaps
Analyze current processes and system effectiveness; recommend enhancements to optimize business operations
Change Management & Delivery
Follow Agile project and change management practices to prioritize, configure, test, and deploy enhancements
Analyze and refine user stories to ensure accurate implementation
Support system testing and validation efforts
Documentation, Training & Enablement
Create, update, and maintain system and process documentation
Deliver end‑user training and provide guidance on Workday functionality and best practices
Act as a subject matter expert for Workday Payroll and Finance modules
Required Qualifications
Core Experience
Hands‑on experience as a Workday System Administrator
Workday administration experience specifically supporting Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, Expenses, Projects, Assets
Strong understanding of Finance and Payroll business processes
Ability to document business processes and produce clear, structured business requirements
Skills & Competencies
Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams
Strong customer‑service mindset with ability to support users in a fast‑paced, changing environment
Highly organized and self‑motivated, with ability to prioritize independently
Ability to deliver accurate work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
Demonstrated discretion, confidentiality, and sound judgment
Experience delivering system and process training
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
