Position Description
Class A CDL Truck Driver based in Danville, VA.
Pay & Schedule
Weekly pay starting at $1,700 per week
Solo miles pay $0.53 per mile (2,500–2,800 miles per week)
Solo stops pay $11.55 per stop (4 stops per week)
Per diem $25.00 per night (3 nights per week)
Paid training
Hours: 50+ per week
Schedule Monday–Sunday, dispatch window 6:00 am–7:00 pm
Route & Vehicle
Deliver SOLO To: up to 1,500 miles from Danville, VA (covering WV, NC, AL, TN, KY, DE, MI, WI, OH, IN, CO, TX, IL, GA)
Route: Regional
Tractor: Sleeper
Trailer types: Dry Van 48' and 53’
Freight: No Touch – Packing Adhesives

Requirements
Minimum 21 years of age
Pass a Ryder Drug Test
Pass a Ryder Background and Motor Vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Pass a DOT Physical
Pass a Ryder Road Test
Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
9 months within the past 3 years, OR
2 years within the last 5 years, OR
5 years within the last 10 years
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs
Load/unload freight or assist with loading/unloading of freight as required by customer
Perform other duties as assigned
