A major heavy steel fabrication business delivering landmark bridge and infrastructure projects is looking to hire an
NDT Coordinator
to strengthen its Quality team. This is a key hire within a large-scale manufacturing environment, offering genuine progression into senior Quality leadership as the business continues to expand.
You'll take ownership of coordinating all
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
activity across a high-volume steel operation, ensuring compliance, scheduling inspections, managing documentation, and driving quality standards on complex structural projects.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate all internal and third-party
NDT operations
across fabrication projects
Manage scheduling of UT, MT, PT, VT and other required inspections
Ensure compliance with AWS codes, client specifications, and internal QA/QC standards
Maintain accurate records, reports, traceability, and quality documentation
Liaise with production, welding, engineering, and external inspectors
Support audits, NCR resolution, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
Help develop and strengthen the wider Quality program as production scales
Ideal Background
Previous experience as an
NDT Coordinator, NDT Supervisor, QA/QC Inspector, or Quality professional
in steel fabrication, heavy manufacturing, bridge, pressure vessel, shipbuilding, or related industries
Strong understanding of NDT methods such as
UT, MT, PT, VT
Familiarity with
AWS D1.1 / D1.5
highly desirable
CWI or other relevant certifications highly advantageous
Strong organisation, documentation, and communication skills
Able to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced production setting
