What To Expect
Tesla is seeking an experienced Training Coordinator to join the Cell Manufacturing team at Gigafactory Texas. In this role, you will develop a world‑class manufacturing training program from the ground up, leveraging expertise in production operations, adult learning principles, and process optimization to drive operational excellence. This position requires a passion for personal development through training, exceptional communication, presentation, and organizational skills, and a professional, motivational demeanor. A strong sense of ownership and accountability is essential. As part of the Learning & Development team, you will assist the production team by conducting hands‑on training in controlled environments, keeping precise records, prioritizing safety, and promoting a structured and focused learning atmosphere.
What You’ll Do
Create and maintain documentation such as lesson plans, instructor guides, and visuals to support the structured manufacturing training program
Facilitate new hire production associates through all phases of the training program, including extended onboarding, documenting attendance, and evaluating assessments or feedback
Deliver instructor‑led training sessions both in‑person and virtually
Certify production line personnel as tool operators and as on‑the‑job trainers
Provide on‑shift training support for Cell Manufacturing personnel and line leadership as required
Benchmark actual workstation production sequences and conditions against current job‑task lists and training materials and solicit, document, and disposition feedback from production line leadership
Review and update department program documentation and manufacturing instructions, determining appropriate training methods for updates
What You’ll Bring
3 plus years of production operations experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
A year or more experience in a hands‑on training role such as lead, supervisor, or trainer
Experience in creating and delivering effective training in both written and oral formats
Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of management and comfort speaking in front of large audiences
Understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, or education
Capability to work in a team environment and autonomously with minimal supervision or direction and proficiency in MS Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
Must have command of the English language both written and verbal
Physical Demands
Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing factory, general office environments, production areas, and continuously ascend/descend stairs
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 lbs.
Must be able to remain in production shops ~70% of shift while in required Personal Protective Equipment
