We are actively hiring a Project Manager I who will support the planning, coordination, execution, and reporting of construction and operational projects. This role assists in organizing work assignments across multiple project teams, developing and tracking project cost and schedule performance, maintaining project documentation, and supporting communication between field operations, internal support teams, and customer stakeholders. The Project Manager works under the direction of the Senior Project Manager and is responsible for supporting project administration, reporting, and coordination to help ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual obligations. This position requires some travel to field projects where the employee will drive a non-commercial company vehicle. Key Responsibilities
Assist in organizing work assignments and coordinating project activities
Support development and maintenance of project schedules
Assist in determining resource requirements and tracking project staffing needs
Coordinate project setup, coding, and baseline project information
Track project milestones and deliverables
Support communication with customers and internal stakeholders
Perform additional project or operational support duties as assigned
Cost Tracking & Reporting
Review and assist with coding of timesheets, invoices, and production quantities
Maintain cost reports, progress reports, and KPI tracking.
Compile reporting packages
Monitor project performance and report variances in cost or schedule
Operations & Field Coordination
Communicate with field teams, supervisors, and management to gather job status updates
Assist in coordinating work sequencing and scheduling updates
Maintain operational and project data in tracking systems (Smartsheet, Excel, Microsoft Project, etc.)
Support distribution of schedules, reports, and project documentation
Reporting & Analysis
Analyze cost, productivity, and schedule data to identify trends or potential issues
Assist in preparing internal and external project reports
Escalate potential project risks, delays, or cost issues to senior project management
Support monthly reporting, forecast updates, and project closeout documentation
Preferred Qualifications
PMP certification
Utility/construction industry experience
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
1–2 years of project coordination, construction, operations, or related experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with project tracking tools
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to develop and maintain relationships
Able to identify potential problems and elevate these to the appropriate levels of management; oriented around problem‑framing and solutioning
Previous internship and/or related consulting experience preferred
Ability to work in a team environment and coordinate across multiple departments
Self‑motivated and able to work with direction from senior team members
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimum guidance
Compensation and Benefits
$75,000 – $95,000/year, depending on experience
