What You'll Do
Promote safe work environments through example; good housekeeping & effective safety meetings
Ensure forklift and crane reports are completed each shift
Plan and attend required staffing and safety meetings
Manage daily operations to include cutting Rolling Mill rolls, spray welding roll passes, overseeing lathe maintenance/tooling and inventory
Plan maintenance work as well as work routinely with vendors
Communicate important shift information, production issues, concerns and needs with proper personnel
Plan out production for most efficient process of production line
Utilize improvement projects that increase the departments functionality
Analyze, treat & establish counter measures for failures
Ensure cutting procedures are followed through performance audits and accurate training
Ensure rolls are cut to good quality standards to meet Rolling Mill needs
Work closely with Guide Shop and Rolling Mill personnel to ensure correct equipment is set up
Purchase rolls and maintain inventory to ensure proper Rolling Mill operations
Planning of future budgets
Monitor daily staffing needs and communicate with other employees to fill in vacancies to maintain operations
Lead team in achieving department and company performance goals with emphasis on accuracy/quality and safety
What You'll Need
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD to make adjustments and modifications to blueprints
Have basic understanding of steel grades, hardness and properties
Experience managing people and budgets
Experience in Inventory Control
Proficient in MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Data entry in SAP/QMOS experience
Ability to track, chart, and improve processes
Ability to work with in project scope and budget
Experience with measuring devices (tapes, micrometer, inside outside calipers, etc)
Your Education
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
