The Inventory and Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing inventory accuracy, coordinating inbound and outbound logistics, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials and products throughout the manufacturing process. This role plays a critical part in maintaining optimal inventory levels, minimizing production delays, and supporting overall supply chain efficiency.
Inventory Management
Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using ERP or inventory management systems.
Conduct and process all material movement activities to support operations.
Logistics Coordination
Coordinate inbound / outbound shipments of raw materials and components.
Schedule and manage outbound shipments of finished goods to customers or distribution centers.
Work with freight carriers and logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation.
Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with procurement, production, and quality teams to ensure material availability and timely delivery.
Communicate with suppliers and vendors regarding delivery schedules and order status.
Process Improvement
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and logistics efficiency.
Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Compliance and Safety
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Maintain a clean and organized warehouse or storage area.
Maintain Hazardous Waste storage area and coordinate pickups for proper disposal.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered (5+ years) in inventory control, logistics, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Physical requirements: employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
