Position Summary
Raul Yzaguirre Schools for Success (RYSS) is seeking committed and dynamic secondary educators to join our Summer School program. The Summer School Secondary Teacher will provide focused instruction in core academic subjects to middle and high school students, supporting credit recovery, academic advancement, and college readiness in alignment with RYSS's mission to empower students through equitable and culturally responsive education.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, TEKS‑aligned instruction in secondary‑level subjects such as English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, or Social Studies.

Support students in credit recovery or academic enrichment through differentiated instruction and targeted interventions.

Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and performance.

Create a classroom environment that promotes respect, academic achievement, and student engagement.

Communicate regularly with students, families, and program staff to support student success.

Participate in required training, planning sessions, and staff meetings.

Qualifications

Valid Texas Teaching Certification in secondary education (Grades 6–12) in the relevant subject area is preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.

Experience teaching in a secondary classroom setting, preferably with diverse student populations.

Strong classroom management and instructional skills.

Commitment to the mission and values of RYSS.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with credit recovery programs, STAAR/EOC preparation, or online learning platforms.

Familiarity with culturally responsive teaching practices.
