Monday-Friday 4-day work week (10 hours, Thursday) Out of town-Mississippi area. 5:00 AM start time.
Pay Rate
$23.00 per hour.
Job Summary
The Medical Waste Route Driver is responsible for servicing assigned accounts in a professional manner, ensuring customers' needs are met for waste pickup and supply delivery. The role includes transporting waste from WMHS or customer locations to transfer or processing sites, with company vehicles equipped with camera telematics, ELD, and GPS.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage assigned routes ensuring timely and accurate waste pickup.
Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, provincial, and local regulations.
Plan daily schedule based on customer needs using manifest, route sheets, and other paperwork.
Follow routing software schedule.
Prepare and load trucks, ensuring supplies are available; unload trucks at Stericycle and customer sites; secure waste.
Ensure customers have packaged waste per regulations before pickup.
Provide high level customer service daily; communicate issues to Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher.
Secure waste, supplies, and material handling equipment before operating vehicle.
Complete and submit paperwork accurately; maintain DOT Driver Log if applicable.
Communicate route changes and other issues to Supervisor or Dispatcher; report problems before close of business.
Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip maintenance on truck; report maintenance issues to Dispatcher.
Use ELD and Geotab to log hours in accordance with DOT guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
0-1 year of experience, preferably driving Box Trucks and route management.
Commercial Driver’s License, Class B or above with an excellent driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
Routing experience.
Customer Service experience.
Physical Requirements
Standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, hearing.
Work in both indoor and outdoor conditions including inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
