
Junior Project Cost Estimator

Hill International is seeking a Junior Project Cost Estimator in Los Angeles, California
Prepare preliminary independent cost estimates of projects for comparison with designer or contractor for PM/CM to establish negotiating position
Assist in preparing change order estimates for Owner Authorized Representatives to establish negotiating position
Provides support in price negotiations
Prepares claim analysis and estimates
Prepares detailed estimates of construction costs based on drawings, specifications and sketches
Assists in reviewing contractor's claims and proposals for merit and accountability
Conducts research on recent cost and price changes in supplies and services
Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, engineering, or construction management
Two (2) years full-time paid professional experience in construction estimating of facilities or School Construction
Knowledge of current local construction labor and material costs
Experience in developing and estimating the scope of work for change orders
Ability to compare the independent cost estimate with contractor proposal to identify differences
Ability to develop scope of work based on RFI/RFC answers and estimate the detailed costs of those scopes of work independent of the contractor proposal
Good oral and written communication skills
Fact-find and in-depth skills
The salary range for this position is $89,000 - $119,000. The offered salary will be based on the applicant's qualifications, education, experience and work location.
