Job Description
The AVP, Collections Manager will lead a team in collecting past due payments for all consumer products including loans, mortgages, credit cards and lines of credit for a financial services institution.
Responsibilities
Reviews delinquent accounts, prioritizes collection efforts, and assigns cases to Collections Specialists based on level of delinquency.
Oversees and guides collection activities, including authorizing repossessions or legal actions and assisting with complex or high-risk cases.
Maintains accurate records and reporting on collection activity while ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Evaluates repayment options and loan restructuring opportunities while collaborating with internal partners to protect collateral and minimize losses.
Develops and recommends collection strategies and ensures policies and procedures are met.
Qualifications
Minimum 4-6 years of collections experience, with at least 2 years of leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of consumer loan regulation including collections and fair lending.
High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
