Description
A Lead Laundry Attendant supervises laundry operations, ensuring quality control, efficient workflow, and proper handling of all linens and guest laundry. They train and mentor laundry staff, manage inventory of supplies, and maintain laundry equipment.
Responsibilities
Laundry Processing: Sorting soiled linens, loading/unloading industrial washers and dryers, and setting appropriate cycles.
Quality Control: Inspecting linens for stains or damage, pre‑treating stains, and performing minor repairs or sewing when needed.
Finishing & Storage: Folding, hanging, and wrapping laundry items in a neat, professional manner, and restocking linen closets or carts.
Maintenance & Safety: Cleaning the laundry area, including sweeping and mopping, cleaning dryer lint traps, and reporting machinery malfunctions.
Inventory & Supplies: Monitoring inventory levels of laundry detergent, bleach, and linens, informing management of shortages.
Requirements
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift, push, and pull heavy laundry carts.
Schedule Flexibility: Availability to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and knowledge of, or ability to learn, safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
