Job Summary
Position: Women’s Soccer, Assistant Coach (Full‑Time, 12‑Month).

Location: Long Beach.

Effective Date: On or about June 15, 2026 (1‑Year Appointment, Renewable).

Salary Range: $75,456 to $91,896 per year.

Work type: Non‑Instructional Faculty (Coach/Counselor/Librarian).

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

Prior athletic participation in Soccer.

Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including Black/African American, Latine/x, Native American/Indigenous, low‑income, first‑generation, and minoritized students.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of and adherence to NCAA rules and regulations.

Experience in Soccer as a player or coach at the college level.

Demonstrated ability to assist with coaching and recruiting quality student‑athletes.

Computer experience.

Public relations skills.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Assist with the development and supervision of student‑athletes in the Women’s Soccer program.

Assist the program in accordance with NCAA Division I, Big West Conference, and University rules, regulations, and policies.

Recruit student‑athletes in accordance with NCAA regulations, academic standards, and University requirements.

Assist in planning and coordinating in‑season and out‑of‑season practices, including team and individual workouts.

Assist in monitoring the academics of each student‑athlete and communicate with the Athletics Academic Advisor.

Assist in planning and implementing game plans and developing scouting reports of opponents.

Coordinate strength and conditioning programs with assigned Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Complete compliance forms required by the Athletics Compliance Office on time.

Support all marketing activities of the Department of Athletics for the Women’s Soccer program.

Participate in fundraising activities for the Women’s Soccer program and/or Department of Athletics.

Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff, media, and friends of the university.

Perform computer‑related tasks as required.

Perform other duties as assigned by Head Coach and Sport Supervisor.

Residency requirement: must be employed within California; employment outside of California prohibited except with approved exception.
