Position Summary
Directly reporting to the Production and Distribution Training Manager, the Production and Distribution Trainer is responsible for collaborating with Blood Operations Instructional Designers to develop and implement technical training programs for Core Processing, Specialized Production, and Hospital Services staff.

Responsibilities
Conducts and oversees the basic training, re-training, continuing education and competency of employees assigned to each area of Blood Production and Distribution to ensure training timelines are met
Coordinates training schedules of staff with leadership
Accountable for all training documentation and record maintenance
Provides technical assistance to staff and management
Assesses performance by performing work observations and identifying performance gaps.
Supports process improvements and manufacturing changes
Flexible to adjust schedule as needed to maintain training progress
Demonstrates the organization’s core values and displays the highest level of customer service possible with internal and external customers
Collaborates on the development of technical training materials and coursework
Maintains technical training materials and coursework
Implements agreed upon training to employees to enhance learning and technical competencies
Assists with review and implementation of standard operating procedures
Maintains competency in functions for which training is conducted
Serves on various committees/teams and attends meetings
Travels to company locations as needed (Travel requirement
Demonstrates Good Laboratory Practices (GPL) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all policies and standards
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma required
equivalent required
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Experience
1-3 years blood production or related experience required
1-3 years training experience preferred
Strong customer service experience preferred
Working knowledge of adult learning principles preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Possess facilitation competencies to ensure an environment conducive to learning that provides trainees opportunities to interact and practice skills required
Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with all levels within the organization, make decisions, be well organized, and be detail oriented required
Ability to read and interpret documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other department manuals required
Ability to evaluate existing learning solutions for continuous improvement required
Possess an understanding of Blood Operations and/or health care required
Possess a strong understanding of adult learning principles required
Deliver training in multiple modalities and forms required
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, multi-task, and work with confidential information required
Tools and Technology
Able to use centrifuges, electronic scales, storage devices, heat sealers, irradiators, and labeling devices required
Able to work in Blood Establishments Computer Systems required
Personal computer, general office equipment (printer, copy machine), Microsoft Word and Excel, Learning Management Software. required
Experience with Articulate 360 preferred. preferred
