This position is predominantly field-based, with over 80% of work conducted in remote locations and overnight travel. The Environmental Technician supports natural resource and compliance projects across Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, Utah, and surrounding states. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with digital field data collection tools, and comfort working independently in changing field conditions.The hourly range for this role is **$22/hr. to $28/hr**.As a key member of the Natural Resources team, this role will be responsible for a range of activities including:* Conduct routine environmental field surveys and prepare reports under supervision using digital data collection tools, including ESRI applications (Survey123, Field Maps) and Microsoft Office* Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and field QA/QC protocols to ensure accurate, defensible data* Demonstrate a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance standards* Support task execution, time management, and completion of assigned project deliverables* Assist with the preparation of technical reports, plans, and specifications* Maintain, manage, and calibrate field equipment as required* Support coordination and execution of field programs and schedules* Maintain and manage environmental data collection efforts and assist with database management for internal and client use* Provide regular progress updates to the Project Manager or Program Director* Contribute ideas for process or program improvements to supervisors* Manage multiple tasks across projects while meeting productivity and billability expectations (target 85%)* Travel to project sites, offices, and meetings as needed* Perform additional duties as assigned**Your Expertise and Skills**These requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here. * To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.* Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or a related field* Seasonal or prior field experience preferred* Familiar with Rocky Mountain wetlands, vegetation, and wildlife* Working knowledge of wetland delineations, permitting, and environmental regulations* Experience with threatened and endangered species or habitat assessments preferred* Proficiency in wildlife, avian, and plant identification* Basic GIS skills, including data processing and figure creation using ESRI ArcGIS Pro* Practical experience with GPS units (e.g., Trimble, Juniper, or similar)* Strong data collection and management skills with high attention to detail* Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Teams, Zoom)* Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills* Adaptable and willing to cross‐train to support additional environmental services**Field, Travel, Work Environment & Physical Requirements**The physical and environmental requirements below reflect what’s typically needed to perform the essential functions of this role safely and effectively.
