Job Description
Responsible for supervising IT field support staff, processes, and tools that support the desktops and other end‑user devices for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC). Serves as the supervisor in the planning, design, development, and support for desktop services for OSUWMC. Supervises teams responsible for the end‑user desktop support of the OSUWMC's system and application environments to ensure levels of stability, reliability and acceptable performance. This is a technical supervisory position with required skill sets to supervise desktop technicians. Coordinates some initiatives, including multiple IT areas regarding the integration of support for desktops with overall business/healthcare solutions. Supervises day to day operations of the desktop services area. Individual serves as a subject matter expert for desktop services strategies, procedures, policies, and methodologies. Provides direction and insight to management, peers and team members regarding the identification and alignment of activities for the desktop services area.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences or related field, and 3 years of experience in IT Technology.
Fundamental knowledge of desktop hardware/software, printing and general networking/telephony environments.
Certifications in one or more of the following are preferred: ITIL Foundations, Six Sigma/LEAN, A+, Help Desk Manager, and Desktop Manager.
