Position Description
The Tube Laser Operator sets up and operates a laser cutting machine to cut metal tubes according to precise specifications. Operators ensure quality control, maintain equipment, and follow safety procedures to support efficient and accurate production.
Essential Functions
Providing customers with parts of the highest quality by operating and maintaining tube laser‑cutting machines.
Fabricating high‑quality parts by setting up, loading, unloading, producing, and packaging laser‑cut tube steel parts.
Cutting a wide variety of customer parts in various sizes, shapes, and metal thicknesses.
Ensuring finished parts meet Lou‑Rich standards.
Working with a high degree of efficiency, skill, and quality to help keep customer costs reasonable.

Requirements
High school diploma or GED certificate required.
One to two years of experience working in the actual construction of laser devices; work‑study program participation is acceptable if it involves real working conditions.
Ability to accurately read drawings and specifications.
Ability to learn at a fast pace.
Experience operating machinery or working with metal is preferred.
Training Requirements
New hires will complete training based on the Human Resources, Safety, IFS‑Timeclock, IFS‑Navigation, and ISO syllabi and will be verified by the Employee Orientation & Job Qualification form within the first 60 days of employment.
Training following the Assembly or Press Room Training Matrix (F4400‑35 or ‑041) will be conducted; effectiveness will be determined by employee knowledge and demonstration of learned concepts. Additional training after the first several weeks of on‑the‑job training will be decided by the Supervisor to prepare the employee to operate independently. Follow‑up training will be evaluated and provided at the 60‑day review or as deemed necessary for the position.
