We are seeking a skilled
Wiring Harness Design Release Engineer
with strong experience in automotive electrical systems and harness design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and releasing wiring harness components and assemblies using
CATIA V5/V6 , ensuring compliance with industry standards and OEM specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop wiring harness layouts, routing, and packaging in CATIA V5/V6.
Create and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings for harness components and assemblies.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing) to ensure seamless integration of harness systems.
Perform design validation checks for fit, form, and function within vehicle architecture.
Manage BOM (Bill of Materials) and release harness designs into PLM systems.
Ensure compliance with automotive standards (ISO, SAE, OEM‑specific guidelines).
Support prototype builds and resolve design‑related issues during development phases.
Work closely with suppliers for component feasibility and cost optimization.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience:
4–5 years in automotive wiring harness design and release.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in
CATIA V5/V6
for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
Knowledge of harness routing, packaging, and electrical component integration.
Familiarity with 3DX PLM environment.
Industry Knowledge: Understanding
of automotive electrical architecture and standards.
Experience with connector selection, wire sizing, and harness protection components.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred:
Experience with GD&T and automotive design validation processes.
Exposure to harness manufacturing processes and tooling.
