The incumbent produces birth certificates for newborn infants, assists in maintaining departmental records relating to births, and submits information to the appropriate agencies. The incumbent also assists the unit with administrative and clerical duties based on unit needs.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Recent work experience in a hospital/clinic setting.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of all federal (HIPAA) and California state rules regarding the release of personal health information.
Ability to adapt to fluctuations in workload and time constraints.
Excellent organizational skills and strong analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Electronic Birth Registration System (EBRS) and/or generation of birth certificates.
Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
Recent experience with data entry.
Experience working in obstetrics and/or pediatric units.

40% – Unit efficiency and administrative support.
