
CNC Process Engineer

Responsibilities
Develop and optimize machining processes for multi‑axis CNC (3‑5 axis, Swiss, mill‑turn)
Create and troubleshoot CNC programs using CAM software (Mastercam, PartMaker or similar)
Design workholding, tooling, and machining strategies for new and existing parts
Support quoting with cycle time estimates, tooling requirements, and cost inputs
Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce scrap, and improve quality
Collaborate with machinists, inspection, and production teams to ensure successful part execution
Interface with customers and vendors on technical requirements, materials, and secondary processes (heat treat, anodizing, grinding)
Qualifications
Strong background in CNC process engineering within a machine shop environment
Experience with multi‑axis machining, including Swiss and mill‑turn applications
Proficient in CAM programming and interpreting complex prints/models
Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, and secondary operations
Solid understanding of metrology, tolerances, and process capability
Ability to troubleshoot machining and process‑related issues on the floor
Degree in Engineering or equivalent hands‑on experience in CNC programming/process development
