DSHS FTAA Fircrest – Warehouse Operator 2
Join our team as a Warehouse Operator at Fircrest Residential Habilitation Center, where you will play a key role in supporting daily operations by receiving, storing, inventorying, and distributing supplies, equipment, and materials for the Fircrest School Commissary. Your work ensures staff have the resources they need to provide consistent, high-quality care and services.

Located in Shoreline, Fircrest serves approximately 200 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, focusing on independence, dignity, and community integration. This position directly contributes to maintaining a safe, well-equipped environment that supports both residents and staff.

Some of what you'll do:

Receive, unload, inspect, and process incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy in quantity, condition, and documentation

Deliver supplies within the campus using a box truck

Input orders into the warehouse system

Resolve shipment discrepancies with vendors and enter receiving data into inventory systems

Store, organize, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment to internal customers and walk-in requests

Maintain warehouse organization and maximize space utilization to support efficient operations

Track inventory, conduct physical counts, and maintain accurate records and documentation

Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and effectively

Support warehouse operations by maintaining a clean, safe environment and assisting with team coverage and annual asset inventories

Desired skills, knowledge, and abilities:

Basic computer and math skills to support daily tasks and inventory processes

Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling materials and information

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work demands in a fast-paced environment

Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently and remain on your feet for extended periods

Strong integrity and commitment to maintaining high ethical standards

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately

Effective interpersonal and communication skills for working with team members and customers

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Willingness and ability to learn warehouse operations, inventory control, purchasing processes, and customer service practices

Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with individuals with disabilities

Who should apply?

A high school diploma or GED

At least one year of clerical or technical experience in areas such as retail clerking, warehousing, stockkeeping, shipping, or receiving, including the operation of material handling equipment

The physical ability to perform the essential duties of the position

Additional information:

Work schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday

King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible to receive a free ORCA card for transportation use.

Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
