Job Description
The Legal Support Assistant provides administrative support to the assigned attorneys, paralegals, and secretaries within the Litigation Practice Group. This position functions as a liaison between attorneys and clients to provide services at a cost savings to the client. The Legal Support Assistant works under direct supervision and relies on instruction and pre-existing guidelines to perform the essential functions of the job. This role is ideal if you are interested in gaining hands‑on experience in the legal field before transitioning into law school.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Coordinate meeting logistics including scheduling attendees, videoconferences, and conference rooms requesting equipment, preparing presentation materials, arranging refreshments, and welcoming visitors
Coordinate travel arrangements including hotel, flight, and transportation services
Create Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations including graphics and transitions
Create and maintain custodial tracker, keeping custodial documents organized and tracking progress on document collection
Create templates for custodial interviews and subpoena responses to the government
Research False Claims Act cases, judicial opinions, and judge courtroom rules
Work with associates to file pro hac vice forms
Format and update chronologies for internal investigations, reviewing hundreds of documents and creating and/or editing tables that summarize our discoveries
Input, review, edit, and update attorney time entries in Intapp
Edit, proofread, and redline documents and correspondence for accuracy, grammar, and formatting
Prepare documents and emails for attorney review, including letters, forms, charts, spreadsheets, and presentations
Proofread documents and emails for accuracy
Create, organize, and maintain electronic files via the Firm’s cloud systems and in accordance with Firm records retention policies
Job Specifications
Bachelor’s degree. (A recent bachelor’s degree in a field such as political science and/or a future interest in law school is ideal)
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and judgment skills
Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
Ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly

Target Hiring Range $58,000 - $72,000
Please note that quoted salary ranges are not guarantees of what final salary offers may be. Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that MWS provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work. Full‑time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
