Senior Accountant

CAMX Power LLC is seeking a highly capable and forward-thinking Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations while playing a supporting role in the modernization of the finance function. This is a hands‑on role that offers a unique opportunity for an experienced senior‑level accounting professional who wants to combine strong operational execution and domain expertise with meaningful involvement in finance transformation.

The position will own daily core accounting activities across general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, project accounting, billing, and labor/timekeeping in a government contracting environment where Deltek Costpoint is heavily utilized across the current finance lifecycle. Additionally, this individual will be excited to leverage new technologies (e.g., AI, automation) and modern solutions to improve the way the function operates.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Close

Lead the month end close cycle including execution of close procedures and maintaining of close checklists, schedules, and supporting documentation

Prepare, review, and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, allocations, reclasses, and reversals

Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations; resolve variances in a timely manner

Support trial balance review, account analysis, and month‑end close package prep

Improve close efficiency, structure, and repeatability through better process design

Support project accounting activities, including project setup support, charge structure validation, and troubleshooting

Prepare and support customer billing and invoicing activities

Assist with unbilled balance tracking, contract asset reconciliation, AR aging, and cash application

Support timekeeping processes, labor posting, approvals, corrections, and issue resolution

Partner with project managers and internal stakeholders as needed to resolve project and labor‑related questions

AP, Reporting & Business Support

Support AP processing, workflow coordination, coding, approvals, and posting

Assist with vendor maintenance and documentation/control compliance

Produce and validate reporting through Deltek Costpoint standard reports

Improve report quality, consistency, and accessibility for leadership and business partners

Automation & Finance Transformation

Develop SOPs and process documentation that support long‑term operational maturity

Help modernize finance processes by reducing manual effort, increasing visibility, and creating more scalable ways of working

Contribute to a potential ERP implementation, including testing, process mapping, workflow improvement, and transition readiness

Support the evaluation and integration of AI‑enabled tools that can improve efficiency across reconciliations, reporting, documentation, and finance operations

Required Qualifications

3–5 years of accounting experience in a government contracting environment

Demonstrated experience with month‑end close, general ledger activity, and reconciliations

Strong Excel skills, including pivots, lookups, and analysis

Ability to operate independently in a lean, hands‑on environment

Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills

Genuine interest in finance systems, process improvement, automation, and emerging technology

Preferred Qualifications

Hands‑on experience with Deltek Costpoint

Familiarity with AI tools or workflow automation in an accounting or finance setting

Knowledge of FAR/DCAA requirements and indirect cost structures

Prior involvement in ERP implementation, finance transformation, or systems migration

Ability to train and support stakeholders with varying levels of systems knowledge
