Summary
The MIL Corporation is looking for a

Budget Analysis, Team Lead

to support a Federal Government client in Arlington, VA. This position requires an on‑site schedule, but the schedule may change based on company or contract requirements.

Responsibilities

Research prior year submissions, contracts, mission critical expenditures, etc., and conduct variance analysis comparing current financial data.

Initiate data calls and facilitate meetings with respective Program Offices to confirm findings and establish new fiscal year requirements.

Develop metrics to present for leadership review and begin drafting narratives and/or justifications.

Review submission guidance and attend office hours to ensure proper compliance.

Coordinate spending review meetings to prepare financial/spending plans within each program office.

Assist in maintaining execution plans by reviewing, approving, and allocating funding for planned activities.

Run monthly GBI reports to reconcile planned vs. expended.

Provide recommendations for realignment strategies and justifications as needed.

Continuously work with software developers to improve financial planning and execution systems.

Directly supervise two or more employees.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of related work experience.

Knowledge of and skill in the use of computer‑based programs for tracking and analyzing financial information.

Great attention to detail and ability to multi‑task.

Ability to work independently and as a team member.

Strong communication skills – ability to communicate clearly with leadership, non‑budget leadership, IT experts, junior or less experienced staff to explain new processes, and laterally with colleagues to collaborate on solutions.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Proactive in identifying issues and proposing solutions, problem solving.

Knowledge and familiarity with Department of State applications, processes, and organization chart.

Ability to connect disparate data sets and summarize data in a meaningful way for leadership
on‑budget users.

Commitment to work and portfolio – desire to improve and take ownership of work and challenges.

Knowledge of Federal, Departmental and Bureau budgetary principles, concepts, regulations, practices and procedures to perform various assignments.

Desired Qualifications

Federal budget execution experience.

Experience with Momentum.

Education
BA/BS

Clearance
Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance and be able to upgrade to a Top Secret (TS) clearance as required.

Compensation
The MIL Corporation offers a projected compensation range of $128,000 – $136,680.26 per year. The final salary is determined based on individual qualifications, education, experience, and contractual limitations.
