Job Summary
The Outside Plant (OSP) Technician supports the installation, maintenance, and restoration of outside plant and network infrastructure across ski resorts, mountain environments, and surrounding communities. This role plays a key part in supporting summer construction activities, including underground locating and field support.
This position is well suited for a hands‑on, motivated individual who enjoys outdoor work, learning new technical skills, and supporting critical infrastructure in a fast‑paced resort environment.
Job Specifications
Starting Wage: $22.32/hr – $30.57/hr
Employment Type: Summer Seasonal 2026
Shift Type: Part Time hours available
Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age
Housing Availability: No
Job Responsibilities
Support outside plant and network infrastructure installation, maintenance, and repair activities during the summer construction season. (IE May — Oct)
Perform field work including utility locating support, cable handling, digging assistance, and site preparation
Assist with incident response, outage support, and service restoration efforts
Participate in outside plant projects by supporting schedules, field coordination, and documentation
Assist with basic troubleshooting of copper and fiber cabling under guidance
Use approved tools and equipment to support testing and field activities
Maintain accurate documentation and update GIS or cable records as assigned
Communicate effectively with teammates, operations partners, contractors, and vendors
Follow established safety procedures, construction best practices, and travel requirements
Job Requirements
Some experience in outside plant, construction, utilities, telecommunications, or a related field role
Position reports to Vail and/or Beaver Creek Mon — Fri, 8-4pm
Willingness to perform physical outdoor work in all weather conditions
Ability to learn technical concepts related to fiber, copper, and network infrastructure
Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability
Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record
High school diploma or equivalent
The expected Total Compensation for this role is $22.32/hr – $30.57/hr. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
