
Aviation Maintenance Assistant

Overview
Department of Aviation and Technical Education (AVTE) at Utah State University seeks a part‑time Aviation Maintenance Assistant (Airframe & Powerplant) to support flight training aircraft at Logan Airport.
Responsibilities
Maintain, repair, and service U.S. Airplane; Diamond DA40F, DA42, Robinson R‑22, R‑44.
Assist in maintaining shop equipment, buildings, and related areas for flight school operations.
Assist the Chief of Maintenance with all airworthiness related tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant license or enrolled in an A/P program and actively working toward the license.
Must provide personal tools; specialty tools will be supplied by the University.
Willingness to assist with lawn care, snow removal, and routine tasks to support flight school operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Two‑year or four‑year degree.
Two years of experience working on Diamond DA40F or DA42 (2‑liter engines).
