
DFS Operator

Position Summary
The DFS Operator creates final output files for flexographic imaging devices and outputs manufacturing proofs.
Essential Responsibilities
Prepare final flexo or corrugate plating files for transfer to the order entry system in preparation for imaging on those devices.
Prepare final files for imaging film for the liquid plate department.
Place plating files strategically on page layouts to maximize sheet usage, attaining the highest possible yield on the plate material used for that production order.
Review all production orders on the flexo or corrugate plating schedules and pull those orders forward to ensure all plate materials are fully utilized for reduction of scrap.
Create the cutting files for all plate orders utilizing the cutting/drill tables for plate trimming.
Image and QC plotted film for the liquid plate department.
Print job tickets, cards, and plotters on each job as per orders for the mounting department.
Test new products introduced into the department.
Maintain and calibrate all plotters as per manufacturer recommendations.
Keep production schedule up to date.
Complete all assigned output and DFS tasks within the order entry system.
Work with manager on scheduling outside vendors required for equipment repairs.
Oversee inventory and order supplies needed for the department.
Assist in training new employees.
Attend all Environmental Health & Safety training sessions and other company-wide and departmental meetings.
Keep work area clean and organized.
Read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Follow all personal protective equipment (PPE) procedures.
Follow departmental standard operating procedures (SOP).
Work overtime when requested by management.
When handing off jobs to co-workers
ext shift, clearly communicate any information for job completion.
Assist with additional responsibilities as directed by management.
Education, Experience, & Certification
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Working knowledge of computers, both Mac and PC, and graphics-related computer applications preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Able to learn new plating technologies as they apply to DFS.
Maintain exemplary attendance and punctuality.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead a team.
Ability to follow direction and work individually or as part of a team.
Self-driven and able to work without oversight.
Ability to conceptualize and problem solve.
Ability to multitask.
Attention to detail.
Comply with all company standards, policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Compensation and Benefits
The U.S. pay range for this position is $21 - $22 USD hourly. Group benefits currently include a selection of health care plans with prescription drug coverage, dental plan, vision plan, basic and supplemental life insurance, a flexible spending account for medical and dependent care expenses or a health savings account based on plan selection, short/long term disability and 401(k) Savings Plan.
